The Fort Langley BIA's Board of Directors is a Board of eight members duly nominated and elected at each Annual General Meeting. There are staggered two year terms to ensure some consistency with Board activities.

At the 2018 Annual General Meeting the two year terms of Cathy Doyle and John Tomlinson will expire.


Gareth Abreo


Gareth is a lifelong resident of Fort Langley, and has worked with Wendel’s Bookstore & Cafe for over a decade. At Wendel's, he is primarily responsible for social media, community outreach initiatives, and policy development. Gareth is also a director of the Fort Langley Community Improvement Society.

John Tomlinson

Vice President

John has lived in Langley since 1959 on a farm that had been homesteaded by his grandfather. For the last 28 years John has run a financial planning practice. 10 years ago John became the owner of the Fort Pub, he currently owns the Fort Pub with Todd Price. John has sat on numerous boards and is very much looking forward to his time with Fort Langley BIA. Todd, John and staff hope all have a great time enjoying the village of Fort Langley.

Craig Stocking


Craig is a partner with the accounting firm of Stocking & Cumming. Together with his business partner, they moved the Langley office to Fort Langley’s Heritage Manor building after a 20 year hiatus, excited to engage in the small town atmosphere Fort Langley embodies. Craig has been a chartered accountant for over 10 years and sits on a number of boards for non-profit and charitable organizations helping these organizations raise funds and work within prescribed budgets.

Christine Burdeniuk


Christine and her husband Peter Kravchuke have operated a law office in Fort Langley for the past 20 years, focused on corporate/commercial, trade-marks, wills and estates and some real estate law. Her husband’s company, Burg Properties Ltd., owns commercial property on the corner of 96th Avenue and Glover Road. Together, they have been involved in the local community for many years.

Catherine Doyle


Following an early career in EDP, as computer operations and programming was known at the time, Cathy began her family and returned to university studying Interior Design, Philosophy and Psychology at the University of Manitoba. A resident of Fort Langley, Cathy has most recently volunteered as a director for the Fort Langley Community Association for three years. Cathy represents Spacial Effects Design.

Franco Papalia


Franco Papalia’s experience in the financial services industry spans over 35 years. He recently established his new office within the village of Fort Langley, on 96th Avenue. He is a mentor in Trinity Western University’s student mentor program and provides an annual bursary to select students in the Business Program. Franco is a board member of Vision360, which seeks to connect like minded business leaders with the desire to create community in population centres in Canada and around the world.

Eric Woodward


Eric resides a few steps from the commercial area of Fort Langley, with the odd commercial project within its commercial core, most notably the Coulter Berry Building at the corner of Glover Road and Mavis Avenue. Eric is also a Director of the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation.
